Over the past year, Feeding the Spirit has successfully continued its efforts to close the gap for people in need in our area. Through the support of the community, barriers of food insecurity and homelessness have been broken, helping our neighbors to survive in an unstable world. The winter months are approaching, and cold weather is on its way. While we continue to provide shelter and resources, we also want to provide protection from the winter elements with a touch of kindness. Feeding the Spirit will again be marking Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week with our Hats, Scarves, Gloves and Love Distribution Day.
For the past several years, volunteers have donated and distributed hundreds of hats, scarves, and gloves around the community for any person to take. We're soliciting donations of new and gently-used hats, scarves, and gloves for men, women, and children to share throughout downtown Greensburg and the surrounding areas.
We hang cold weather bags outdoors on trees, fences, and benches. Any donated items should be separated and labeled in Ziplock bags. (Please clearly label child, adult male, adult female, or adult unisex on each bag.) A typical bag might include 1 hat, 1 scarf, and a pair of gloves. You can donate full sets or individual items that we'll mix and match to create sets.
Volunteers will meet at YWCA in Greensburg on Saturday, November 16 at 9:15 to distribute across our town.

To date, we have distributed well approximately 20,000 bags of winterwear to those in need, but we can’t do it without YOUR help!!!
