About this Event
Join the Howard County Human Rights Commission & Office of Human Rights and Equity for a public forum on hate crimes and hate bias incidents (HBIs). This event will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions about reporting hate crimes and HBIs, learn from the Community Outreach Team of the Howard County Police Department (HCPD) how these reports are investigated by law enforcement, and participate in a discussion forum on the current state of hate in Howard County.
Through this collaboration, we hope to build trust between the community and law enforcement, improve understanding of the context and impact of hate crimes and hate bias on Howard County's diverse communities, and to increase the reporting rate of hate crimes and HBIs.
Dinner will be served beginning at 6pm, with programming beginning at 6:30pm.
