Hastings Relics Roadshow 21st Feb@everyone Just one month away from the roadshow at Hastings Museum. 3 members of this page will currently be attending with tables on the day.
Phil Hadland:
Sets up and runs the roadshow every year. With an expert knowledge of not only Folkestone but also the local fossil rich geology of Hastings itself. He will keenly help identify your finds from all over the UK.
Thomas Miller:
I refer to him as the Master of the Invertebrates. One of the few people I know who can identify the ammonites and crustaceans of Folkestone with just fragmentary material. Thomas will kindly be putting on a display about the stratigraphy of the faults beds at Folkestone with examples of the ammonites that can be found within. He is also one of the best preppers and preservers of Folkestone material I know, if you want to see the colourful ammonites of Folkestone is display will be the one you want.
Chris Baker:
That’s me! I’ll be there with a table of Folkestone material. I’ll leave the ammonites this year to Thomas. I’ll be bringing a selection of Folkestone material including shark teeth, crustaceans, corals as well as my newest find with the ichthyosaur predation marks. Phil has kindly allowed me to bring some fossil jewellery among other items for sale with part of the profit to be donated to the museum.
Entry to the Museum and Roadshow is completely free. If you can make it, it would be great to see you all.
