Turn your roof into a resource!

If you’re interested in saving money on your water bill, making your landscape more sustainable, or simply curious about rainwater harvesting, this workshop is designed to give you the knowledge and tools to get started right away.

Join Clemson Extension Urban Horticulture Agent Nicole Goodman for an informative and hands-on workshop, Harvest the Rain: From Roof to Soil, where participants will learn about rainwater harvesting and how to set up their own rain barrel system.

Whether you're a homeowner, a gardener, or simply curious about using rainwater wisely, this workshop will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to start harvesting rain.

  • Legality and Local Regulations – what you need to know before collecting rainwater.
  • Rainwater Chemistry – nutrients, pH and more
  • Health Concerns – safe uses for rainwater and best practices for keeping it clean.
  • Pests and Algae – how to prevent mosquitoes, algae, and other common issues.
  • Live and Hands-on Demonstration


Participants will receive:

  • πŸͺ΄ one rain barrel and kit (includes hole saws, spigot, downspout connector) and
  • πŸ“š resources on all things rainwater.
