Did you know that the Harvest Mouse is classified as Near Threatened in Britain? This means they could become extinct if no action is taken. Scientists desperately need more information about numbers in the wild to help assess what conservation actions need to be put in place.As part of our Green & Active Project, we are taking part in the National Harvest Mouse Survey and are looking for volunteers to join us for this exciting citizen science task. No special experience or qualifications are required to join and it’s a great way to help scientists seeking to restore nature, while getting outside for a fun treasure hunt style activity!
Local Parks & Countryside Ranger Joe Malyan will be running this activity. All you need to bring is wellies, gardening gloves, enthusiasm and nest spotting skills!
