This event is inspired by the original Harvest Moon Ball, which was a famous annual ballroom dance contest held at Madison Square Garden in New York City from 1935 to 1974, best known for promoting Lindy Hop and showcasing Black American artistry during the Swing Era. During its peak it drew in audiences of more than 20,000 people!
