Join BHC Education Curator Vicky Heffner for a hands-on basketry workshop where participants will create their own traditional harvest basket—once commonly used to gather potatoes, carrots, beans, and other freshly picked crops. In this workshop, Vicky will guide participants through crafting a sturdy basket featuring a challenging and visually striking herringbone weave (over-two, under-two stakes). A selection of colored reeds will be available so each attendee can personalize their design. Whether you're an experienced basket weaver or trying something new, this immersive session offers a rewarding exploration of early American craft traditions.
