It's spooky season, and what better way to celebrate than with good, old-fashioned scary stories?
Join us for a special Halloween event to kick off the weekend! Starting at 8:30 PM, we're hosting a costume contest, our special Pitch-A-Book event, and ending the night with special lights-off bookstore browsing.
The costume contest will be judged by our booksellers and the winner receives a 20% off coupon to use on Hallo-weekend, and we're bringing back our special pitch-a-book event for customers to share their favorite books, scary stories, old wives' tales, urban legends, and more. Each person will get 3 minutes to give a quick summary of the story, favorite tropes, any scare-level gauges, and why they think everyone should read it too. Customers who present books also receive coupons for 20% off a purchase over the weekend. Add your name to the list of presenters and let us know which title you’ll be talking about via . Finally, to end the night, it's lights off in the store, so take a flashlight (which will be provided, while supplies last) and head into the unknown for an hour of browsing among the shadows.
This event is free to attend, but please RSVP ahead of time to ensure an approximate headcount.
