ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: During the 1920's, Harold Lloyd was the most successful film star in the world and a prolific 3-D photographer. He was a founding member and the first President of the Hollywood Stereoscopic Society, as well as a long time member of the Stereo Club of Southern California and the PSA. And he was a humongous fan of Christmas. For decades, Harold Lloyd would decorate his Christmas tree with thousands of decorations. So many that he eventually took to affixing three trees together to create a tree 20 feet tall and 30 feet around. Eventually the decorations and tree became so elaborate that the Llloyds would keep it up year-round. When it became a permanent decoration, the family fireproofed the tree and reinforced the branches with bamboo and steel bolts. It held more than 5,000 ornaments.
Suzanne will share her memories of her grandfather and present a selection of Harold Lloyd's 3-D stereo images of his year-round Christmas tree.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Suzanne Lloyd is the granddaughter of Harold Lloyd and was raised by him at his magnificent estate -- Greenacres -- in Beverly Hills, California. She was executive producer of the documentary Harold Lloyd: The Third Genius and author of 3-D Hollywood, Harold Lloyd: Master Comedian, and Harold Lloyd's Hollywood Nudes in 3-D! Suzanne Lloyd considers it an honor to preserve and promote Harold Lloyd's legacy for future generations and maintains his archive of over 250,000 stereo photos.

ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.
