Four Romantic Pieces Op. 75 by Antonin Dvořák
Suite Populaire Espagnole by Manuel de Falla
Fantasy in C major by Franz Schubert
MUSICIANS
Jeffrey Myers, violin (Calidore String Quartet and Sunday at Central Artistic Director)
Mariko Kaneda, piano (faculty, Ohio Wesleyan University)
Dvorak’s Four Romantic Pieces is a charming collection of pieces titled Cavatina, Capriccio, Romance, and Elegy. Suite Populaire Espagnole is an arrangement of Seven Spanish Songs originally written for soprano and piano. De Falla and violinist Paul Kochanski chose six songs to adapt to violin and piano. Russian pianist Nicolai Lugansky described Schubert’s Fantasy as “the most difficult music ever written for the piano.” The piece is rarely performed due to its complexity.
Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis and free parking is available. Recommended for ages 9 and older. Sunday at Central concerts are livestreamed at sundayatcentral.org and can be watched later at youtube.com/sundayatcentral.
