A wonderful day singing barbershop with an outstanding chorus, led by some of BABS’ most talented musical leaders!That's what we hope you'll say after attending one of our exciting Harmony College 2024 Chorus Days.
To celebrate BABS' 50th anniversary, we aim to make Harmony College as inclusive and accessible as possible. We're hosting two chorus days — one in the South and one in the North — where you'll sing in a large chorus directed by one of the country’s top Musical Directors, with support from section leaders with exceptional quartetting skills.
We've selected special music for the event, which will be available in advance. The songs are "Keep The Customer Satisfied," arranged by Sam Hubbard, and "Learning To Unlove You," arranged by James Whittick. Both Harmony College North and Harmony College South will focus on these two songs. Teach tracks will be provided to help you learn your parts before the event.
On the day, there will also be breakout education sessions to enhance your barbershop skills. The day is designed for both new and experienced barbershoppers, with no prior experience necessary (though learning your part beforehand is encouraged).
The music will be arranged for lower voices, but everyone is welcome. The cost is just £18 per day for BABS and LABBS members (£25 for non-members), making this a wonderfully affordable day of music.
Each event will bring together singers from all over the country. We expect these days to be very popular, and due to venue size, we will need to limit numbers. Please book early to secure your place on the risers.
Additionally, Harmony College 2024 will feature a festival of online education during the week following the chorus days. There are no fees or tickets required for this — just log in and join via Zoom. A schedule for this online festival will be available soon.
