Harmania Indie Choir Live - Celebrating 10 years!
Celebrating 10 years together!
With Special Guests - Cathy Forristal, Cliodhna Gahan, Jasmine Murphy, Phil Coulter and a full band of Waterford’s finest musicians.
The Waterford based choir have been weaving harmonies together since their formation in 2015. What started as a small group of 12 passionate singers has blossomed into a vibrant and popular choir with two branches ( Waterford and Dungarvan) and nearly 100 members. Known for their original and energetic performances, they specialise in crafting unique covers of indie classics while also dabbling in a diverse range of other genres, including dance, pop, club classics, folk, indie folk, and rock.
Each singing term has a theme, the most recent being Haçienda Nights (Songs from the iconic Manchester Nightclub) This eclectic approach has landed them spots on numerous stages at festivals and gigs across Ireland and recently Berlin, where they performed at the Berlin Philharmonic Concert Hall.
Their collaborative spirit is evident in projects with various Irish and International artists. Harmania has also gained media attention, appearing on RTE 1 radio and earning a spot on the “1001 Covers” best covers playlist for their rendition of Stone Roses’ "She Bangs The Drums." Their dynamic cover of Moby's "Natural Blues" caught the eye of Joe.ie, further cementing their reputation for lively and unexpected performances.
Over the past 10 years they've covered over 70 indie, club and dance classics from Nirvana, Belle& Sebastian, The Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, Soul ll Soul, Frankie Knuckles, Moby, Chaka Khan to Neil Young, The Beatles, Sinéad O' Connor, U2 and Joni Mitchell and that's just the tip of the iceberg !!!!
Attending a Harmania gig promises not only a unique musical experience but also an invitation to join in the fun, as audience members are often encouraged to sing and dance along with the choir.
