Harlem Park Green Day - Gardening Volunteer Event with Parity Homes

There are two lots in Harlem Park that need your help to transform them into functioning gardens benefitting the local community! Break A Difference is partnering with Parity Homes to support their mission of developing affordable housing in West Baltimore. Break A Difference will be providing supplies, facilitation, and tools to support volunteers of any skill level to conduct various tasks to beautify the lots including removal of debris, building outdoor furniture, installation of new fencing, and other garden projects. No previous skills required!

Parity is an equitable development company that acquires and rehabilitates abandoned buildings by the block to create home ownership opportunities. They innovatively unlock gridlocked housing markets by leveraging the power of social capital. Parity creates upfront demand for homeownership opportunities in mostly abandoned neighborhoods by creating pathways for friends, families, congregations, coworkers, comrades, and other social collectives to purchase homes together block by block as a means of social justice, and community and wealth building.

Harlem Park Green Day will serve as Break A Difference's April Social Impact Saturday event. On the last Saturday of every month, Break A Difference's 'From: Baltimore' program hosts Social Impact Saturdays involving transformational volunteer projects in the morning with a cookout to build community and network afterward.
