About this Event
Come learn about tough trees (and shrubs) on the morning of July 27th in Cheyenne!
Did you know that there was a horticultural station at Cheyenne where they tested trees, shrubs, vegetables, and fruit for their suitability to our climate? Established in 1928 the station operated for decades. In the 1970s the station changed focus and many of the existing trees and shrubs either survived or perished on precipitation only.
Join us as Jessica Friis, Horticulturist with Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, takes us on a tour of the survivors at the High Plains Arboretum. Learn about their history and see if these tough trees and shrubs will work for your place!
