NAME OF CLASS: Hardanger Biscornu TUTOR: with Carol Stacey
CLASS DESCRIPTION (same as in Review)
If you have been attracted to traditional Hardanger Embroidery from Norway and wished to know how to stitch your own pieces this class will show you the way. As you work through the basic components of kloster blocks, buttonhole edges, eyelets, needle woven bars, doves eye fillings, satin stitch motifs and cable stitch you will quickly gain confidence. You'll even find that cutting and removing fabric threads is not so scary.
Stitching on 32 count evenweave linen with Perle Coton threads the resulting 2 small pieces of your work will be lined, embellished with pearls or beads and shaped into a pretty biscornu shape measuring approximately 7cm square.
The class is suitable for beginners to this technique although some experience in counted work may be an advantage.
A kit - in white linen only - can be purchased for $30 at the class.
