Trapper Schoepp
Milwaukee singer-songwriter Trapper Schoepp has made waves in the folk music world with his unique ability to carry on the tradition of storytelling in song. His latest album, Siren Songs, recorded at Johnny Cash’s Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, TN, showcases Trapper’s strongest collection of songs yet. These tracks, influenced by traditional American and Irish folk music, are brought to life under the guidance of producers John Jackson (Jayhawks, Ray Davies) and Patrick Sansone (Wilco). The album’s title references the enchanting sirens of Greek mythology, blending folklore and nautical imagery to tell captivating stories.
Trapper has garnered attention not only for his musical talents but also for his collaboration with the legendary Bob Dylan. In 2019, he published the long-lost song “On, Wisconsin” with Dylan, making him the youngest musician to co-write a song with the Nobel Prize-winning icon. This achievement led to widespread recognition, including a #1 trending article in Rolling Stone and an extensive world tour. Trapper’s deep connection to folk music is reflected in his dedication to honoring the legacies of those who came before him, while also pushing the genre forward.
With over a decade of touring experience, sharing the stage with Americana mainstays like The Wallflowers, The Jayhawks, Frank Turner, and Old 97’s, Trapper’s performances are a living, breathing art form. As he prepares to tour in support of Siren Songs, he’s eager to bring these new songs to life on stage, sharing the magic of his storytelling with audiences everywhere.
