About this Event
Step into the world of Noongar culture with Djurpin Ninni Yongkas Cultural Incursion, led by Cyril Yarran, a passionate Noongar man dedicated to preserving and sharing his rich heritage. Join us for an interactive and engaging program where children will immerse themselves in the vibrant traditions of the Noongar people!
This session is suitable for young people ages 3 7
To help us keep you and our community safe:
- We ask guardians to remain with children under the age of 8 in activity areas for the duration of events.
- Children under the age of 13 years must be supervised by a guardian at all times while in a City of Canning Library (siblings 16 years + are deemed suitable to supervise)
- Eventbrite bookings are essential and all attendees must have a ticket.
About the Program: In this special cultural immersion, children will have the opportunity to learn from Cyril Yarran, an experienced Noongar presenter. Through stories, songs, and hands-on activities, kids of all ages will discover the beauty and significance of Noongar culture. From traditional dances to language, this program offers a unique and educational experience.
About the Presenter - Cyril Yarran: Cyril Yarran is from Milliyaan Aboriginal Services, a proud Noongar man with ancestral connections to the Whadjuk, Binjareb, Yued, and Balladong Regions in Boorloo (Perth). With a background as an Aboriginal Education Officer, Cyril has worked with children from early years through to secondary education. His passion for preserving Noongar culture shines through in his engaging presentations.
