It is our goal to practice and share whole-food plant-based recipes and have the opportunity to share tasting and the recipe. These are dishes that are entirely made from unprocessed to minimally processed plants, and as low as possible in added salt, sugar or oil. Please bring along a copy of the recipe or at least an ingredient list.

The Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group at Mary Free Bed is an independent group of employees of the hospital who are organized to share the power of lifestyle medicine. Lifestyle Medicine includes 6 pillars of health. 1) a whole food-plant predominate eating patten 2) physical activity 3) manage stress 4) avoid risky substances 5) improve sleep and 6) connect though relationships and community.
Plant Powered for Health is a plant based nutrition support group located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This all volunteer group is centered around evidence-based research that shows the incredible health benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet (WFPB) low in fat, salt and sugar without added oils. This includes studies and publications by physicians and researchers such as Drs. Dean Ornish, Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, Neal Barnard, John McDougall and others, that have demonstrated a WFPB diet to slow down, stop or in some cases reverse chronic disease.
Our group strives to empower all who want to optimize their health by providing community meetings and events, discussion of the science, sharing of WFPB food, and camaraderie on the journey. Food, Friends, Science and Support! Join us!
