About this Event
This is a trauma-informed event created with care, compassion, and deep respect for the personal journeys of all who attend. The Hapé Wisdom Workshop & Sacred Ceremony is an immersive experience that gently combines education, spiritual practice, and ceremony within a safe and supportive environment.
Guided by trauma-informed facilitators Shane Cloudscapper, Azim Nobeebaccus, and Samantha Nobeebaccus, participants are invited to explore the ancient Amazonian medicine of Hapé (pronounced ha-peh) through learning, prayer, and direct experience. Every element of this gathering is designed to honour emotional safety, personal boundaries, and the sacred wisdom of the plants, allowing you to connect with the medicine at your own pace, with trust and presence.
Part One: Hapé Education & Sharing CircleWe begin with an educational and experiential workshop, creating a foundation of understanding before entering ceremony. You'll discover:
- Origins & Meaning – The Indigenous roots of Hapé among Amazonian tribes and its traditional use for grounding, focus, and spiritual purification.
- Plant Alchemy & Creation – How sacred blends are made from mapacho and medicinal plants, each carrying distinct energetic properties.
- Different Types of Hapé – Experience the essence of blends such as Tsunu (grounding), Parika (energising), Corda (cleansing), and Yawanawa (balancing).
- Spiritual & Therapeutic Uses – How Hapé can support meditation, clarity, and emotional release when used with intention and respect.
- Serving Tools & Sacred Breath – Learn about the tepi and kuripe, and the art of prayerful application.
This first part invites reflection and discussion in a trauma-informed, inclusive setting ensuring that learning happens through curiosity, not pressure, and that all experiences are held with respect.
The second half of the event invites participants into a traditional Hapé ceremony guided with gentleness and care. This is a space for inner stillness, connection, and remembrance, supported by trauma-informed facilitation to ensure emotional and energetic safety. The ceremony includes:
- Opening Blessing & Grounding – Invocation of the Four Directions and purification of the space through prayer and intention.
- Intention Setting – Participants are guided inward, connecting to what they wish to release or invite in.
- Offering of Gratitude – Honouring the medicine, the tribes, and Mother Earth for their wisdom and guidance.
- Receiving the Medicine – The Hapé is served through the tepi, in prayer and reverence, allowing grounding and spiritual clarity.
- Silent Reflection – Time to rest, breathe, and integrate the experience within.
- Closing Circle – Sharing insights, grounding through breath and movement, and giving thanks.
