It’s lovely in small town Præstø in ‘Ninna’, especially around Christmas time, but when you are a single mother in a midlife crisis and your 18-year-old son announces he is moving out – suddenly life is hell on earth. At least that is how it feels for Ninna, whose world shatters at the thought of life without her beloved son, Dennis, by her side.

Twice a month we screen a Danish classic or a highly acclaimed new production with English subtitles. Tickets are 80 DKK (50 DKK for members of the Cinematheque) and can be booked and purchased online. Please note that booked tickets must be picked up no later than 45 minutes prior to the screening.
In Danish on a Sunday in June and July we screen 'Dear Wendy' (2005), 'The Word' (1955), 'The Commune' (2016) and 'Ninna' (2019).
Danish also means Danish pastry! Before each screening, we have a special offer on a coffee with Danish pastry (or a piece of cake) at Restaurant SULT at an extra cost of only 40 DKK.

Der er dejligt ved Præstø, men når man er enlig mor på 40, arbejder på den lokale grill og ens 18-årige søn pludselig vil flytte hjemmefra, så er det pludselig helvede på jorden. Sådan føles det i hvert fald for Ninna, hvis verden bryder sammen ved udsigten til at skulle klare sig uden sin Dennis. Og desværre for ham, opgiver hun ikke så let at få ham hjem igen. Som en bramfri provinsmodpol til 00'ernes 'Nynne' fra storbyen brænder Susanne Juhasz igennem i den veloplagte, bittersøde komedie, som hun også selv har skrevet manuskriptet til. Hun er lige dele skrækkelig, charmerende og frygteligt pinlig, når hun giver den gas på sin røde knallert i stramt miniskørt, som det værst tænkelig mordyr. Mon den nye nabo (Peter Gantzler) kan redde hende fra hende selv?
