After dropping what Rolling Stone has called “one of the best indie releases of the year” and blowing away the crowd at King Gizzard’s Field of Vision festival in Colorado in August, US singer Hannah Cohen is heading to Australia for her first ever tour. And she’s stopping by Anglesea with her band and with Sam Evian as part of The Flying Cloud Tour. It's sure to be an amazing opening gig of The Sound Doctor's 2026 season.Seamlessly blending folk and indie-pop, the lush sounds of Hannah Cohen are ethereal, soaked in the beauty of nature, with a tenderly mystical quality. Her stunning 2025 album Earthstar Mountain is a shimmering reflection on love, loss and interconnection, woven from years spent in the quiet rhythms of the Catskills in countryside New York. Here she shares a home with producer and multi-instrumentalist Sam Griffin Owens. Performing as Sam Evian, he’s also making his Australian debut, treating Anglesea audiences to a set of his soulful and playful ‘60s and ‘70s-inspired sounds.
If you’re a fan of Joan As Police Woman or like the music of Lucy Dacus, Big Thief or Weyes Blood, this night of soothing, dreamy, glittering tunes is definitely a show for you!
