Hangul, In Situ is a graphic installation that attempts to look beyond the touchstones of our cultural canon and explore how Hangul — the official writing system of Korea — can interface with the evolving/contemporary world to form more nuanced expressions. Removing typography from a digitised space, the work reimagines the possibilities of language in relation to the physical space it occupies. Choi attempts to ask the question — how does letter forms change in relation to the space it is situated in? How do they evolve as times change?1 Ponsonby Road
