Let's make New Moon Ghee and Hang Out. We'll be infusing the ghee with your powerful intentions.
About this Event

Here’s what I’m thinking, let's hang out and make New Moon Ghee.

What’s new moon ghee? Well, it's simply ghee, super potent clarified butter, made during the new moon and infused with your intentions and gratitude.  As a menopausing woman you need to be sure to have ghee in your life.

In India, ghee has been called the elixir of life. Ghee is clarified butter which has been even further cooked, removing difficult to digest proteins.

Why the new moon and not the full moon? Both of these times are very special from a witchy, biodynamic spiritual perspective.  I happen to like making ghee on the new moon.

The new moon is a time of potential, new beginnings, and harnessing the energy for positive change and growth.

In the world of Ayurveda, ghee is one of three top most important food substances to add to your diet. Ghee is especially important in digestive health, internal lubrication and inflammatory conditions.
Who is this for?

  • Women dealing with menopause symptoms either severe or barely there
  • Women having gut and digestive health issues like constipation or heartburn
  • Women who are curious about Ayurveda
  • Women who want to meet others managing menopause naturally
  • Once bought butter to make ghee but __________ (fill in the blanks 😝)
    • Can't  find the time to make it
    • Sat in fridge had to used it
    • Seemed too complicated
    • Forgot how to make it

If you've never made ghee or are an old pro at it, come hang out. Making ghee makes the house smell like popcorn, yummy.

Why do I need ghee if I’m having menopausal symptoms?

From an Ayurvedic perspective, menopause transitions the body from a heated (pitta) to a dry (vata) state, causing symptoms like heartburn, hot flushes, and dry skin. Ghee, known as the elixir of life, has rejuvenative properties, is anti-inflammatory, and serves as an internal lubricant.

How does ghee compare to coconut oil?

While coconut oil stays on the surface of body tissues, ghee penetrates deeply, even passing the blood-brain barrier to calm the mind. Ghee can also be used on burns for quick healing.

Why make ghee at home instead of buying it?

Homemade ghee costs less than store-bought and ensures freshness and proper handling. Store-bought ghee can be expensive and its quality may be compromised during shipping. Making ghee at home only requires the cost of butter and less than an hour of your time.

Who am I? Who is hosting this event?

Hi my name is Chitra pronounced Chih-truh and I am a Doctor of Ayurveda specializing in women's health. I work with peri through post menopausal women who have been dealing with symptoms like hot flashes, brain fog, sleeplessness, lethargy and mood swings. Not only does their body feel foreign but they feel isolated and unheard, in a medical system which doesn't prioritize women's health, in a society biased against aging.

I love educating women around choices for the body in the Art of Menopausing with the wisdom of Ayurveda. We then put that wisdom into practice so women can get on with the business of being the magnificent creatures they are.

Here's what you’ll need to make ghee:

  1. 1 lb unsweetened butter.  I prefer organic.
  2. 1 pot to melt the butter and make the ghee
  3. Anything that will melt the butter that you can control examples Stove Hot plate Instant Pot
  4. A clean wide mouthed jar for finished ghee
  5. A spoon
  6. Something to separate the solids from from the melted butter (optional and handy)examples Cheese cloth, Fine metal Strainer

Bonus:

While making the ghee… you will have the opportunity to pick my brain and ask questions about Ayurveda or the Art of Menopausing.

Here are some examples of questions:

  • Do you have any tips on how to beat this heat?
  • How do I know if my vata is high or kapha is low?
  • How do I control anxiety naturally?
  • What can I do to help my dry hair?
  • How does Ayurveda view intermittent fasting? That’s about it. The next new moon is Friday July 5th. We'll be making the new moon ghee 4:30pm-5:30pm EST / 1:30 pm -2:30 pm PST on Zoom. It's free!

Yes it's free, and yes sometime in the middle for 5 min or less I will be shamelessly plugging my next big thing.

P.S. You don't have to make the ghee... just come hang out and ask questions and set a powerful intention for the next month, year, and life.
