About this Event

Through this workshop, we aim to guide participants on the practice of writing a Will through a simple ABC Framework. During the session, we will consider what Assets to use, who can and should be your Beneficiaries and Clarity when you are preparing to write your Will.

We will also provide an overview of the Intestate Succession Act and case studies to enhance your understanding of what is involved in writing a Will.

Some benefits of having a Will:

  • Distribution of assets: A will allow you to specify how your assets, including property, investments, and personal belongings, should be distributed after your death, ensuring your wishes are followed.
  • Executor appointment: You can name an executor in your will who will be responsible for carrying out your wishes and handling the administrative tasks of your estate.
  • Guardianship of minor children: If you have young children, a will enables you to appoint a guardian to care for them in the event of your passing, providing peace of mind for their well-being.
  • Minimize family disputes: A clear and legally valid will help reduce conflicts among family members by outlining your intentions and preventing potential disagreements over asset distribution.
  • Tax planning: A well-crafted will can include provisions to minimize tax liabilities on your estate, ensuring that more of your assets go to your chosen beneficiaries.
  • Avoid intestacy laws: Without a will, your estate will be distributed according to intestacy laws, which may not align with your wishes. Having a will allows you to retain control over who receives your assets.
  • Peace of mind: Creating a will provides peace of mind, knowing that you have taken care of your loved ones and have a plan in place for the future.

P.S. All participants will receive a set of Will preparation forms and personal guidance from our Certified Estate Planner in a small group of 2-3 people.
