About this Event
Roll up your sleeves engineers! This week it’s all about hands-on building and design! We’ll explore how engineers at NASA, Apple and Tesla create smart rockets, devices, and cars with lots of hands-on projects in Lego and MaKey MaKey microcontrollers. We’ll construct a programmable controller to move around your Minecraft worlds and guide your bots with conductive buttons made from bananas, paper clips, and a cup of water. We’re even getting into the fundamentals of AI and machine learning as we build bots that respond to, and help improve, a greener world. And we’ll test out our own Scratch coded Dance Dance Revolution floorpad to keep us moving and grooving…and celebrating our new skills in engineering. If you like to build and you want to save the world, this is your most fun camp ever!
Projects Include:
- Lego Hands-on Engineering: Build, test and improve your design with Lego prototypes.
- Scratch Coding & Game Design: Create the art and code the action in your own Scratch video game.
- MaKey MaKey Microcontrollers: We’ll construct a programmable controller to move around your Minecraft worlds and guide your bots!
- Physical Computing: We’re testing our own Dance Dance Revolution floorpad to keep us moving and grooving in our Scratch-coded music game.
- Minecraft: Design epic Redstone circuit structures in a sandbox world of your own creation
