Who is organizing this event?We are an ever-growing nonpartisan coalition of local and regional groups, standing together in SW Virginia to:
• Protect veterans benefits and our Salem VA workers
• Protect USPS services in rural communities and the
workers who deliver them
• Protect public school students and teachers
• Protect our farmers and food supply
• Protect folks on Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, SNAP
and WIC
• Protect our air, rivers, parks and public lands, our local
George Washington & Jefferson National Forest
• Protect our rights as workers, citizens, consumers, and
humans
We are church groups, unions, community groups. Retirees, veterans, educators, neighbors, all coming together because we know this is what it takes to stop indiscriminate cuts to our communities.
Why are we protesting (here and across the country)?
This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies.
Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.
