Join us for a creative and therapeutic workshop focused on crafting your own handmade smudge candles using traditional plant medicine and essential oils. This event is open to everyone, with a special emphasis on nurses, doctors, and therapists working in health institutions where traditional smoke smudging may not be permitted. Participants will have the opportunity to work with staple plant medicines such as sweet grass, sage, and cedar, while also exploring optional additions like OSHA (bear root), lavender, and more. You’ll learn about the significance of each plant and how they can enhance your smudge candles. We will also share some Ojibwe knowledge surrounding health and wellness, focusing on the concept of the good life. The workshop will include discussions on seasonal health practices, the plants we harvest, and how they connect to mindfulness and the items we are creating. In this hands-on workshop, you'll be guided through the candle-making process and will take home your very own 4-ounce medicine candle. This event is an excellent opportunity for those in hospitals, schools, and American Indian educational programs to explore non-smoke alternatives for smudging and healing.RESERVE BELOW!
