Hi everyone, my name is Yolande and I make fine silver jewellery out of Silver clay. Silver clay is a material, invented in the 1990s, made up of fine silver particles (usually recycled from the photographic industry, X-rays, electronic devices etc), an organic plant based binder and water. The clay can be moulded, rolled, textured and shaped. I dehydrate the clay, file and refine the piece before firing it with a butane torch or in a jewellery kiln. The resulting silver piece is then polished by or tumbler ready to wear! The resulting silver is of hallmark quality. I do have my own hallmark but cost to get it sent off to be marked.
There are two types of silver clay, 999 fine silver and 925 sterling silver. In my workshop, i use 999 fine silver.
All my findings (chains, earring posts & backs etc) are made of recycled sterling sliver.
I will also be selling leather jewellery trays and jewellery rolls made by a local designer.
I look forward to seeing you on the 28th September
