This week’s talk will include an in-depth exploration of how different types of plants handle the heat, and what we, as their keepers, can do to help them through the challenging times of the year. Norm will also be discussing how climate change is impacting our ecosystems, and how to keep yourself cool, and sane, while gardening in the extreme temperatures of the Mojave!Each week Norm will also feature a selection of “Fabulous Plants For Your Las Vegas Landscape”, and ample time for Q&A ??
Norm is a co-founder of Mojave Bloom Nursery and owner of Schilling Horticulture Group, an award winning landscape company that has been serving the Las Vegas and Henderson communities for over 20 years. He started his journey into the “green industry” in 1988 and has continued to learn and educate ever since. Norm is known for his whimsical and enthusiastic style of sharing the joys, and challenges, of growing in Southern Nevada. As the Co-host of KNPR’s Desert Bloom, along with speaking at events all over the valley, Norm has been able to share his love for horticulture while sparking passion in plant lovers everywhere.
