You will learn how to implement a range of decorative techniques to personalize your platter, including carving, stamping, and applying textures. The goal of this class is to experiment with various shapes and styles to craft a serving platter that is both practical and visually striking. Whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced potter looking to expand your hand-building repertoire, this class offers a delightful and rewarding experience.
All necessary tools and materials will be provided, including clay, glazes, and hand-building equipment. Students are welcome to bring their own tools if preferred. This class is designed for anyone interested in pottery, from complete beginners to those with some experience looking to refine their hand-building skills. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
Our experienced instructor, Sophia, combines years of pottery expertise with a passion for teaching. She will guide you through each step of creating a beautiful and functional serving platter. Join us for this engaging and rewarding class where you’ll not only develop your pottery skills but also enjoy the satisfaction of creating a unique, hand-built serving platter.
After the class your platter will be slowly dried in the workshop before going in for it's first firing. We'll then get in touch with you to choose which glaze your like us to coat your platter in. It'll then go back into the kiln for a final firing before it's ready to come home with you.
