About this Event
All are welcome—no sewing experience necessary!
This two part workshop will provide instruction in patchwork, appliqué, and embroidery techniques to describe a likeness of our animal best friends. Using running stitch, felling, and whip stitch, fabric scraps will be collaged onto a fabric backing. Simple running stitch embroidery will act as drawing to further define features and expressions. Finished portraits can be applied to existing textiles—cushions, garments or larger fabric for a wall hanging.
Students are encouraged to bring textiles with them—used and worn clothing, bedding etc that can be repurposed into a new. Some fabric will be provided along with all other necessary supplies.
