Join us on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, from 2-4 pm for the EF HIV: The Art of Hand Mending and Sashiko Embroidery workshop will be held at the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach. Participants will learn the basics of hand mending and learn how to use sashiko embroidery to fix torn or lightly scuffed clothing. You can bring a piece of clothing to mend or use the fabric provided at the workshop to practice. and be able to create their own handmade pieces.
Additionally, we will briefly discuss Leonilson’s work and have a presentation from a local PrEP Navigator on local HIV/PrEP resources.
This workshop is open to those 18 and up, and no prior experience is necessary. All materials will be provided to participants. Walk-ins are welcome! Space is limited, so registration is highly encouraged. Masks are optional.
Location: The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach; 2017 E 4th St. Long Beach, CA 90814
Parking: Parking is available in the lot behind the center or surrounding streets.
