Hand Cane a Chair Using the 7-Step MethodOctober 22-24, 2025
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 10am to 3 pm

Learn how to cane a chair using the 7-step method. Beginners level instruction on the steps, how to wet the material, and use the various tools will be covered. Class Fee per student: $200 members/ $210 non-members, plus Materials Fee: $45.
Materials include 500ft of strand cane, 12ft of Binder Cane, 12 Caning Pegs, 1 Wood Handle Steel Awl, Reed Corner Plugs, instruction book, and HH Perkins' typed sheet of best practices.
Students will need to bring a chair to cane and cane cutters (aprox. $12 at https://peerlessrattan.com/home/plato-cutters/ )
Note: I will need each student to measure the material on the chair or the size and spacing of the holes so I can have correct size material for each student. I would like to see a photo of each chair and/or seat. ~ Jennifer
