About this Event
Before ceramicists invented the wheel, hand building was the only way they could create functional and artistic ceramic forms.
The most common hand building techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building.
It is entirely possible to make lovely pottery without a wheel.
What is slab building pottery?
The slab building technique involves rolling out clay to an even thickness - usually 1 cm - then cutting shapes, folding, bending, manipulating and joining together to form a finished object. Slab objects are left to dry EVENLY before bisque firing for at least 7 days
You will love playing with clay as it is very relaxing and calming while you will work to bring your idea to life.
You are welcome to Glaze your pieces at the same day.
Pottery will be ready for pick up at the studio after 2 weeks of your class.
Location: 3919 Howard ave. Windsor (at the intersection of Howard + Cabana, besides Roseland Church)
