About this Event
-HAMPTON 2025 EARTH MONTH EVENT-
Join the Conservation Commission for a spring BioBlitz and revisit the Car Barn Pond!
What is a BioBlitz? It is a species scavenger hunt where volunteers help find and record data on as many different species as possible in a certain area and a short amount of time. Participants will share their findings using iNaturalist, where the final number of species identified will be tallied. No experience necessary as we will have experts joining us to help with identification!
Parking is available at the Hampton Park and Ride on Timber Swamp Rd. in Hampton.
All ages are welcome but we kindly ask that children are accompanied by a guardian. Nature Bingo, with prizes for winners, will be available for children 10 and under.
Come prepared to spend the morning outside! Bring a water bottle and a camera and/or phone to take pictures and download the iNaturalist app ahead of time if you are able!
We will provide a light breakfast, coffee, tea, water, snacks, bug spray and helpful identification materials. Please be aware, there is no bathroom on site.
