Join us for an evening of exhilarating spoken word with Brighton's longest-running poetry slam in The Tusk Club @ The Walrus. Featuring performances from Joe Bunn, Redeeming Features and Sophie Glew, and hosted by Leanne Shorley.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
HOW TO SLAM: 'Performer Tickets' are now SOLD OUT for 3rd September. If you'd like to come along as an audience member and be on the slam reserve list, please let us know at the door on the night (often, at least one slammer with 'Performer Ticket' won't turn up, so it's worth a punt!)
Feel free to email [email protected] with any questions.
Please be aware the performance space is in a basement which is only accessible via a flight of stairs. There is space to store wheelchairs / a mobility scooter on the ground floor. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Feature poets:
Joe Bunn is a former host of Hammer and Tongue, full time bard, and a part time je ne sais quoi. He has a winning smile, as featured in the Worthing Smile contest 2011. What he does should bring a smile to your face, and one hand to another in a motion I like to call applause. It's comedy, it's poetry, it's music. It's Joe Bunn @joebunnjoebunnjoebunnjoebunn
Sophie Glew is colourful & clumsy lady/artist/poet type person with a tangled brain but a lot of enthusiasm. Stumbling through life trying her best at the impossible task of being alive & sometimes writing poems about it @sophieglew
Redeeming Features reigned victorious at the last slam of the season earlier this year. Hold the mic and ready for some punk poetry @redeemingf
