Join us for a free breakfast where WorkSafe will discuss construction safety best practices and answer all your questions. Find out about your rights, responsibilities or employer obligations at work.
We'll cover:
• crystalline silica dust exposure and controls
• using the hierarchy of control to protect your employees
• electrical isolation to differentiate between de-energised and isolated
• trenching safety controls
• safe use of elevating work platforms
• how to manage work-related fatigue
• identification and prevention of bullying.
9.00am – 9.50am: Ask WorkSafe
You’re invited to discover WorkSafe's purpose to reduce workplace harm as Victoria's occupational health and safety regulator. This session will explore the basics of WorkSafe's role in harm prevention and enforcement. WorkSafe will address local issues, welcome questions from the audience and explain how to create safer workplaces.
10.00am – 10.50am: Managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace
Join us as we discuss psychosocial risks in different work contexts, including how an employer can identify, assess and control these risks.
We'll help you to understand your responsibilities as an employer and ensure your employee’s health and safety.
We'll have time for any questions you may have at the end of the session.
10.50am - 11.30am: Morning Tea
