Bobbin Head to Cottage Point.
Boatbuilding in Norway goes back more than 1200 years. 100 years ago with a gaggle of small children in tow a little known Norwegian family set foot on the shores of Australia. Bringing with them a boatbuilding heritage that made its mark on Australia.
Over the years as the family grew boatbuilding so did the endeavors of many parts of the family in many locations.
Ten’s of Thousands of people have been touched by the Halvorsen Legacy, from extreme yacht racing to pleasure cruising on the Hawkesbury and Murray Rivers, to Shipwrights and associated industries.
Some might say the king “Kong” of “Australian boat building” …….. see what I did there 😜…..

Let’s celebrate with a cruise on Cowan Waters. All boats welcome to participate or watch!
We are celebrating ALL the amazing craft built by the different branches of the Halvorsen Family!!
Hosted by the KMYC at Cottage Point, this is shaping up to be a 1 in 100 year event!! 😜

If you’re keen for a ride….. I’ll try and squeeze you on my boat at Bobbin Head (come find me) or I’ll get you onto another Halvorsen in the fleet.
Boarding at 10.00. Silver Cloud & Silver Cloud 11 & Kalinda will proceed to Cowan Creek, near Apple Tree Bay. Form an idling circle, (Similar to what precedes the KMYC open day salute)
All other rafted Halvorsens
Vessels will be swung from the stern too position alongside THEN invited to start their engines and join Silver Clouds in the slow loop.
“Bergithe” should be the last released from her berth and will motor through the loop to be then followed by Silver Clouds and Kalinda then the rest of the fleet.

All other boats that come for a look toot, clap, wave as we sail past!

KMYC is arranging a salute to be taken by Commodore and committee members as vessels pass the Club clock.
Silver Cloud and Silver Cloud II will come alongside on arrival at KMYC. Other members should proceed to their mooring and the club tender will bring owners and guests ashore.
Non-members please reach out to the KMYC for a casual morning allocation, or anchor off the KMYC to the NE.
The facilities of Cottage Point Kiosk are available and there will be a sausage sizzle lunch, $20 per head, profits to Marine Rescue. RSVP to KMYC
Visitors from Bobbin Head will reboard available vessels to voyage back to Bobbin Head at 2pm where the workboat at Bobbin Head will meet vessels off the A arm wharf and run guests into shore.
