The origins of Halloween dates back to the 2000 year ago Celtic festival of Samhain - marking the end of summer and harvest season, and the beginning of the dark- and cold winter. At the 1st of November they celebrated new year - and it was believed that, at the night before the new year, ghosts of the dead returned to earth. To prepare for the dark- and cold winter we are arranging a Slow Balboa taster-class, 19:00 at the 31st of October Friday Social-dance, which is a smooth and elegant swing dance - characterized by a close embrace and a playful, flowing style, typically danced to slow jazz or swing music.

For the social-dance we have prepared a playlist with some spooky tunes and it is encouraged to wear a costume, but the most important is to come as your self - with or without a costume.
