Join us in the woodlands for an afternoon of spooky, autumnal fun and relaxation!
About this Event

Join us in private woodlands at Rushcliffe Country Park for a nourishing afternoon celebrating Halloween / Samhain, an important celebration in nature's calendar.

This event is compromised of three sections:

  1. 'Folklore in the Forest' - a guided wander through the park and woodlands, learning about the fascinating (and sometimes spooky!) stories, myths and legends that surround the plants and beings that exist in this natural space.
  2. Forest Bathing* - You will be guided through a deeply nourishing forest bathing meditation in the comfort of private woodlands set within the park. We will finish this section with a warming cup of freshly foraged tea.
  3. Halloween nature crafts - You will have the chance to make your own spooky decorations ready for Halloween, all using natural materials in a supportive and fun environment (beginner friendly, and mindfulness based)

This event is a celebration of the darkening evenings, and the sense of both spookiness and cosiness that comes with it. As the leaves turn golden and fall all around us, and the chill in the air begins to creep in, we are encouraged to join together in community and in celebration - to celebrate the harvest all around us, to celebrate the natural world that continues to support us and to celebrate ourselves and each other for arriving at this transition period, exactly as we are. Whether this time of year is something you look forward to, or whether the encroaching darkness poses challenges for you, this event is for anyone who feels called to spend more time in nature during this unique season.

*What is Forest Bathing?

Forest Bathing, or ‘shinrin yoku’ in Japanese, is the wonderfully restorative, mindfulness-based practice of immersing oneself in the forest, woodland or any green space. Guided by a trained facilitator as this session will be, you will gently use your senses to connect to the natural world around you. Many studies have shown forest bathing to have a profoundly positive impact on our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. When practised in a group, it can also provide a lovely, easeful way to not only connect to nature and to ourselves, but to the other people around us.

The event will be guided by a qualified Forest Therapy Practitioner. Additional information will be sent out to all attendees 2 days before the event by email - if you have not received it by then, please check your spam then message me at [email protected].

Please see FAQs below for information on accessibility, parking and other info. Any other questions, do not hesitate to get in touch.
