This big-hearted animation was a commercial and critical hit during the Christmas period before last, taking more than $300 million worldwide, despite not being a remake or a sequel. It follows the Mallard family of ducks as they migrate to the Caribbean for the first time, much to the consternation of their anxious father Mack Mallard. Along the way they are beset by various hazards, including a restaurant chef who wants them out of the sky and on to his menu!
A wholesome tale to be enjoyed by all, with some genuine wit provided by screenwriter Mike White (creator of the tv hit The White Lotus), this colorful and disarming film is the perfect accompaniment for a family visit to the lush tranquility of Carey’s Secret Garden.
