Tickets: $70.00
Immerse yourself in a 5 hour session of noble silence while practicing meditation, mindful movement, walking meditation and self-reflection. What to expect-
Although participants will be in noble silence most of the session, meditation teacher Amy Tarrant, founder of Meditate Detroit, will guide you through meditations, mindful movement, walking meditation, and self-reflection. She will also do some readings from well-known meditation teachers and authors like Thich Nhat Hanh, Kristin Neff, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Jack Kornfield and more. Anyone who has any experience with meditation or yoga. If you have never done meditation or are unsure about meditation, I recommend you try a few shorter sessions before you try a 5 hour session.
Please give yourself plenty of time to arrive and get settled. We will start promptly at 9:00am. Doors will open at 8:30am. Comfort is important. Dress in layers the temp in the room may vary. We may have the opportunity to practice outside in the beautiful garden if weather permits. You may want to bring a blanket, yoga mat, water bottle with a lid that seals, meditation cushion, journal, and pen.
Nobel Silence- Is a lapse of time when you allow yourself and others not to talk. It “does not mean that we are not allowed to talk. It means that we don’t have to talk, we have no obligation to talk during that period of the day or night. ~ Plum Village
“The power of quiet in the world full of noise.” ~ TNH
Soft gaze at the floor. Avoiding direct eye contact. No talking, reading, or singing.
“This is a time of adventure and exploration of your inner landscape. A day you have given yourself permission to release most responsibilities, expectations, and communication, so you can explore what lies beneath the silence. To really experience the now.” ~ A.T.
