HALE COUNTY THIS MORNING, THIS EVENING is the directorial debut from filmmaker RaMell Ross (Nickel Boys). The film follows the lives of Daniel Collins and Quincy Bryant, two African American men living in rural Alabama, over the course of five years. Daniel pursues a college degree while Quincy becomes a parent. Ross’s keen photographic eye is on display in this documentary, as he examines how the idea of race impacts the lives of Black people in the American South.
