Two-Year Comprehensive TrainingBegins January, 2024
In the Hakomi training, students learn to develop an exquisite sensitivity and attunement to others, and to convey this understanding. This empathy and responsiveness helps to create a deep sense of safety and connection, and facilitates the effectiveness of the therapy. The self-development of the therapist coupled with Hakomi’s highly innovative techniques, form the core of the training.
Using non-dualistic principles of mindfulness and gentle, open curiosity, the Hakomi therapist creates an atmosphere of safety for deep and sophisticated processing. This helps the client yield their defences safely and willingly to be examined, re-evaluated and transformed into more functional choices and behaviors.
The relief, increased self-awareness and freedom provides the client with a sense of personal empowerment, choice, and a richer appreciation for life.
The training is 15 blocks long (approximately 20 months) and each block builds on the previous block's curriculum and follows the Stages of the Hakomi Process.
Learning occurs through a combination of lecture, practice, witnessing one's own and each other's personal work aided and refined by the groups intelligence and wisdom.
Hakomi trainings focus on expanding the practitioner’s range of skills and abilities while also creating a safe container in which to explore and more fully understand ourselves as therapists healers and as individuals. Students are exposed to a few different faculty in order to see the varied but closely aligned style differences in approaching the method.
