INFORMATION FOR THE DAY

DOG OWNER ETIQUETTE

The doggies are central to our event so we want to look after you and them as best we can. We make every effort we can to secure the venue and make it as dog friendly as possible but please keep an eye on your dog at all times as we cannot take responsibility of care for pets. We ask that all dogs are taken for a short walk prior to the event so any business they have to do is taken care of. If they have an accident please take responsibility for the mess – we will have supplies ready for this,cleaning equipment,poo bags and bins so just please ask a Chatelherault Dachshund staff member. We always give out treats & Fluffacinos to the humans for your wee sausages . There will be water bowls dotted around for your dogs – the venue we use is usually average room temperature. If your dog is aggressive or ruining the enjoyment of other participants, we reserve the right to ask you to leave.

Dog's should be kept on the lead at all times, however we do have an outside area that is secured where you are free to let your dog off the lead under your own supervision!

Please DO NOT bring your dog along if they are: In season, aggressive towards other dogs or people, very nervous in crowds, not up to date with vaccinations or don’t like to be social.

We welcome all dachshunds but please use common sense, if your dog isn’t going to enjoy our event, then it may be best not to bring them along!

NON DOG HUMAN ETIQUETTE

Dog lovers are just as special to us! There will be anywhere up to 100 dogs in each session that we hold (providing everyone that has booked to come to the event, attends) – most owners are there to chat, share their pets with people who are interested in the breed and have a good time so please feel free to mingle, share tables with fellow daxie owners and enjoy the day! We ask for all non dog humans attending our event to please ask dog owners before petting or otherwise interacting with the doggies – most owners will be happy to let you interact with their pets, but best to ask first. We also ask that should you feel the desire to share any food/treats we give out with any dogs, please ask the owner first. Other than that – enjoy your time in our little slice of heaven!

EVENT TIME

When arriving at the event The Hair Of The Dog team will check you in outside the venue, we ask everyone to arrive 15 minutes before their time slot and form a queue outside the venue. It would be a great idea to bring your confirmation email for your session.

TICKETS

All dogs go free!! For everyone else you will need a ticket and we ask that no more than 1 dog per human (this is for safety reasons to ensure your dog has your full attention) if you plan on bringing more than 1 dog please bring a friend with you (they will also need a ticket) and let them join in the fun!

CASH/CARD

Although some of our stall holders may have the ability to take card payments on the day this will be a cash event, we don't want you missing out on all the goodies to be had.

RAFFLES/AUCTION

There will be raffles galore for sale on the day with great prizes up for grabs, ALL monies raised from these will be donated to Dedicated to Dachshunds with IVDD, along with the money made from tickets sold and anything purchased from the Chatelherault Dachshunds stall on the day!

OUTSIDE AREA FOR THE DOGS

There will be a small outside area for the dogs to wander around away from the stalls. There will be signs on the day to direct you to the area. Again it is your responsibility to keep your dog safe but the Chatelherault staff members will be on hand if you need any help.
