About this Event
The felling of the Sycamore Gap tree has exposed the fragility and irreplaceable character of our heritage. But it also offers a chance to reflect on what else is under threat on and along Hadrian’s Wall. What do we value and do not want to lose? How can we act to protect it? And how in particular is climate change accelerating the loss of the fragile heritage of our Roman frontiers?
The event will consist of a series of short talks, a discussion session, and a heritage community fair with stalls on projects and initiatives along the Wall. Speakers will include, Prof David Breeze, Dr Andrew Birley (Vindolanda Trust), Dr Gillian Taylor (Teesside University), Dr Rob Collins (Newcastle University), and Dr Tanja Romankiewicz (University of Edinburgh).
