Ohpaho Theatre presents a modern retelling that weaves together the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone. Hadestown: Teen Edition written by Anaïs Mitchell, is set against the backdrop of an industrial Depression era inspired underworld. The story explores love, sacrifice and balance between hope and despair. Musically inspired by American folk music and New Orleans blues and jazz, this musical follows the gods, workers and fates as they contemplate the power of art and resilience, even in the face of inevitable tragedy.NOTE: This production is recommended for audiences of 12 years old and up.
