About this Event
Hackney Central is changing and thanks to the thousands of local community voices we have heard over the last few years, big plans for the area are moving forward.
On Saturday 27 July between 11am and 3pm, the Council is inviting people from communities across the Hackney Central area to join the Hackney Central Showcase:
- Discover how we're introducing new green space, trees and meeting spaces along Amhurst Road - including the unveiling of our interactive video!
- Help us shape plans for the future of Ash Grove bus garage and nearby sites, which could create a greener, electric bus depot alongside new homes and commercial spaces.
- Share your views on design proposals for a rejuvenated Hackney Town Hall Square.
These are just some of the projects happening in Hackney Central, some of which will be delivered from £19 million of government Levelling Up Funding. In May, we - the first project which will be delivered. Work will start later this summer to create a new public green space, prioritising safety and wellbeing for the local community.
The Hackney Central Showcasewill also feature family activities such as face painting and soft play, while market traders from across Hackney will be on hand to serve up an inspired range of food and drink.
