About this Event
Come join us as we embark on a journey to the world of the genetic code and learn how to change the DNA sequence of living organisms. In this seven-hour workshop, students will learn about the exciting possibilities of genetic engineering which allows DNA modification of bacteria, plants, and animals. Students will be exposed to wide-ranging applications of genetic engineering in medical health, climate change, and global food supply.
Highlights of the workshop: students will apply the latest Nobel-Prize awarded Crispr-Cas9 genetic editing tool to modify the DNA of non-pathogenic bacteria and enable it to survive in the presence of antibiotics.
