About this Event

The hackathon will take place at Trinity Business School on April 6th 2024 from 09:30 am until 19:00pm. This event is open to postgraduate student teams from all Irish Universities, regardless of domain or discipline, but it is important to note that there will be considerable data analysis involved. The theme of the hackathon is “Hack for Good” with a particular emphasis on fair and equitable solutions. The full challenge scope and problem with associated resources and data will be provided to competitors on the day, along with a keynote talk by the Director of Analytics at a TOP consulting firm.

How do I enter?

Step 1: Build your team.

This is a multi-disciplinary hackathon which will require a wide variety of skills, from technical to creative, and we recommend including strong critical thinking and investigative research skills to complement the core technical data computational skills that will be necessary to win. Build your dream team, but remember that all student members must be postgraduate students in an Irish University.

Step 2: Register you team.

Use this Eventbrite link to register and book your seats. Remember, there is a limit to the number of participants, so we encourage early registration.

Step 3: Prepare for the event day.

Prepare for the event day by investing time and effort into how modern data analytics can be balanced by fair and careful management practices in order to ensure that data science solutions are fair, equitable, and inclusive. Spoiler alert, responsible data science is the key theme of the day… (hmm I wonder if that is a hint about the hackathon topic)

Important Note

When the ticket for this event is ordered, please specify the full names, university affiliation, and student number for each team member. Only ONE ticket is necessary for each team. Please provide a contact number and email as there will be some teasers and important info shared prior to event.
